See which sections of a report a client read

Updated November 3, 2026. By Vela Partners.

To see which sections of a report a client read, send it as an ArtifactSend link instead of an attachment. The report shows each reader by email, with time on each section, page or slide, how far they read and a replay of each visit. It works for HTML, Markdown, PDF and Office files.

Can I see how long a client spent on each section?

Yes. On an ArtifactSend link, you see each reader's active time on each section of a web page or Markdown file, and on each page, slide or sheet of a PDF or Office file.

Sections come from the headings in your report. Clear headings give you a clear report.

What tools track which pages or sections a client viewed?

Document tracking tools do. DocSend, Papermark and Peony show time per page for PDFs, as of November 2026. ArtifactSend shows time per page too, and time per section for live HTML reports and Claude artifacts, with clicks, copied text and replays.

Google Drive and OneDrive show who viewed a file at most, not which parts they read.

Can I track whether they downloaded, forwarded or printed it?

How do I share with view tracking while protecting client privacy?

Yes, with time on each page.

Can I get an alert when they reach a section?

You get an email at the first open. Ask Claude or ChatGPT to schedule a daily or weekly digest of who read what.
