Know when a reader visits your website

A reader opens your deck, clicks the link to your site, and you get an email with their name and the page they saw.

  1. Add your domain. In the app, open Website and add the domains you own, for example acme.com.
  2. Add one script tag to every page of your site, before </body>. The Website page shows it with your key:
    <script src="https://artifactsend.com/w.js" data-site="YOUR_KEY" async></script>
  3. Link to your site from the artifact. Any link to your domain works. ArtifactSend adds a signed reader token to it when the reader clicks.

What you get

An email per reader, once a day

Who it was, which document sent them, and the page they landed on.

A list in the app

Every website visit from a reader, newest first, on the Website page.

In the Monday report

How many readers went on to your site that week.

How it stays private

The script sets no cookies and reads nothing from your page except its address and title. It sends data only when the visitor came from one of your shared documents, which the signed token proves. Other visitors are not tracked. The token lasts 30 days.

Frameworks

The script follows route changes in single-page apps (Next.js, React Router, Vue Router), so one tag is enough. In Next.js, put it in the root layout with next/script and strategy="afterInteractive".
