An Ellty alternative that stays free after 14 days
Ellty and ArtifactSend compared for founders and deal teams, from Ellty's own site in November 2026.
The short answer
Ellty is a virtual data room for fundraising, M and A and real estate deals. It has passwords, download limits, screenshot protection and a watermark, and it starts with a 14-day free trial. Its plans page did not show prices in the text we read on November 1, 2026.
ArtifactSend is free with no trial clock. Data rooms with folders, an NDA, a watermark with each reader's email, email codes and reading reports are all included. It does not have passwords, download controls or screenshot protection yet. Pick Ellty if you need those controls today. Pick ArtifactSend if you want a free room that stays free.

Ellty facts from ellty.com, checked November 1, 2026.
When Ellty is the better pick
- You need a password, download limits or screenshot protection on the files.
- You want an investor database and pitch tools in the same product.
- Your process is a large M and A or real estate deal and the budget is set.
When ArtifactSend is the better pick
- You want the room to stay free after the first two weeks.
- You have several people on the deal and do not want to pay per seat.
- You share HTML memos, dashboards or Claude artifacts, not only PDFs.
- You want to ask Claude or ChatGPT which investor read which file.
What ArtifactSend does not do yet
- eSignatures. DocSend includes them on paid plans, and Peony gives 3 a month free.
- Video with analytics. Most rivals track video on paid plans.
- Your own domain. Links on your domain instead of artifactsend.com.
- Password, download and screenshot controls. Today the email code, the watermark and the expiry cover most of this.
- Per-folder access and a Q and A thread in data rooms. Today a room has one door, and each person can get their own link.
- Slack, CRM and Zapier. Today Claude and ChatGPT read your reports through the MCP.
