# Share a Codex-generated HTML report with your boss, with nothing to install

> To share an HTML report from Codex, publish it as a private link that opens as a page in any browser. With ArtifactSend connected, ask Codex to publish the file and it returns the link. Your boss installs nothing, and you see when they open it and how far they read.

## The short answer

Run npx artifactsend setup once. It adds the ArtifactSend MCP server to Codex and the other agents it finds. Then ask Codex to publish report.html with an email code door. Codex calls send_artifact and gives you the link.

Without the connector, drop the file into artifactsend.com and copy the link. Both ways are free.

## Can I send the report as a single self-contained HTML file?

Yes, but an attachment often opens as code or a download. Ask Codex to put all styles, scripts and images inside the one file, then publish that file as a link.

A link opens as a working page on any device. A single file up to 10 MB works as it is. If the report keeps images in a folder, Codex can send them with the page, up to 10 MB each and 40 MB in all.

## Which free services can host an HTML file privately?

ArtifactSend is free and private by default, with an email door. StatiCrypt is free and encrypts the file with a password, but you still need somewhere to host it.

GitHub Pages is public on free plans. Netlify and Vercel put a password on paid plans. Our comparison of private HTML hosting has the details.

## How can I protect the report with a password?

On ArtifactSend, open the link, select More settings and add a password. It is checked on the server, never in the page.

For one reader, an email code is better than a password. It proves the reader owns the inbox, and it cannot be forwarded with the link. You can use both.

## Can I export the Codex HTML report to PDF?

Yes. Open the report in a browser, choose Print, then Save as PDF. A PDF loses filters, tabs and charts you can hover, so send the live page when it has any of those.

If you do send a PDF, ArtifactSend tracks it too, with time on each page.

## Update it next week

Ask Codex to update the same link with the new report. It calls update_artifact. The address stays the same, so your boss keeps one bookmark.

## Publish from your agent

To publish from an agent, connect the ArtifactSend MCP server at https://artifactsend.com/mcp, or run npx artifactsend setup. Every tool, setup step and limit is on artifactsend.com/agents.

## Questions

**Does my boss need Codex or an account?**

No. The report opens in any browser after the door you chose, such as an email code.

**Does Codex support MCP servers?**

Yes. npx artifactsend setup adds ArtifactSend to Codex for you.

**Will charts and filters keep working?**

Yes. The page runs as Codex wrote it, scripts and all.

**Can I see if my boss opened it?**

Yes. You get an email at the first open, and the report shows time on each section.
